Out Come the Shocker Rockers and Gruesome Get-Ups: October 2024 in Ten Photos

After what was a surprisingly busy September, October slowed down a bit as the dark nights rolled in. That doesn’t mean to say that it wasn’t busy with plenty of stuff going around with Halloween just around the corner.

Gigwise, October saw the Swedish metal heavyweights Arch Enemy and In Flames team up for a brilliant night of Scandinavian melodeath with fellow countrymen Soilwork rounding out a stacked bill. The highlight though was the return of the Master of Shock Rock Alice Cooper who delivered another night of high quality, tongue in cheek shock rock anthems in Leeds.

Elsewhere, footy season was well underway with matches for both Knaresborough Town and Everton Women’s team who, even at this early stage were both languishing at the lower end of their respective tables. Still, plenty of time for both teams to turn it around.

Finally, the end of the month saw the return of the glorious horror convention For The Love Of Horror. A weekend of guest speakers from the horror world, plenty of stunning cosplay outfits and enough horror paraphernalia to empty your wallet.

Here’s my October in ten photos…
